Dr. Kerrie Sanders, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Kerrie Sanders has been working in the veterinary field in various roles since 1998. She recalls being drawn to animals since her earliest memories, and always knew that in some way or another, a job working with them is what she would pursue.  To describe her as being "smitten with kittens" is an understatement.

Dr. Sanders grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Oklahoma in 2004 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Oklahoma State University in 2008.  Since graduation, her career has focused solely on feline medicine, aside from 1.5 years of providing mobile end-of-life care for both dogs and cats.

Dr. Sanders' animal care career has taken her from Oklahoma, to New York, and then on to Oregon.  She is excited to start a new adventure in Arizona with the team at the Scottsdale Cat Clinic and all their wonderful clients.  Although she loved aspects of living both on the East Coast and in the Pacific Northwest, she is happy to put those long gray winters behind her.

Dr. Sanders is Fear Free Certified and believes in a gentle, calm approach and working to make sure the cats in her care feel as relaxed as possible.  She relishes the joys and challenges of working with cats, and fully believes that their unique make-up is best served by having a hospital environment focused entirely on them.

Her clinical interests include Internal Medicine, senior pet care, and management of chronic diseases.  Some of the activities that Dr. Sanders enjoys in her free time include hiking, live music and reading.  She also dabbles in trying her hand at cooking (with variable success) and arts & crafts.  Although she is a known “foster failure”, she dreams of having a cat foster care and sanctuary facility at some point in her life.
